Weather Patterns in The Bahamas

During the wet season the weather is dominated by the Bermuda High in the North Atlantic. Winds are predominately lighter south easterlies. The dry season is characterized by fronts that move diagonally across North America from northwest to southeast. The air masses associated with these fronts are moderated significantly from moving over warm water by the time they reach The Bahamas. These fronts impact the northern Bahamas more than the southern Bahamas. The wind is predominately north easterly in the dry season and typically stronger. The months of May and June are transitional from the dry season to the wet season.
